Talent, versatility, and flexibility. Kathryn is the designer at YFA. She has been designing flowers since 2009 and opened her own flower shop in 2017. She is extremely versatile in her floral designs and is flexible and accommodating.
Transparency- Kathryn does her best to be transparent as possible when explaining the process, and the expenses.
Selection of rental options. YFA has a variety of rental options including: arches, arbors, glassware, stands, pillars, backdrops, lanterns, hanging options, etc! Don't buy it when you can rent it!
Licensed and Insured. This is important, and the venues care even if you don't.
Three story shop with two large walk in floral coolers. This unassuming 3300 sq. ft. shop is located in Jacobus, PA. It is open on weekdays from 1:00-6:00 for retail shopping. The basement of the shop is 1000sq ft of storage and work space for large scale events. The Main floor is for retail shopping and daily floral design. The third floor of the shop is an office, art studio, and wedding consultation room. Arches, arbors, large scale glassware, and other items are housed across the street in a separate storage building. Having two walk in coolers allows YFA to properly store all blooms at optimized temperatures.
Rental decor. YFA has a huge selection of rental decor options. Vases and vessels, stands, arches, table runners, card boxes, table numbers, easels, etc. Why buy when you can rent?
Minimal Waste- Reuse, Recycle and compost! YFA composts all organic waste; this can add up to a significant amount during flower processing and design for large scale events.
Locally sourced when possible- YFA sources locally when possible, but also uses seasonal and internationally harvested blooms.
Extra large van- YFA uses a variety of different delivery vehicles depending on the type of event. For large scale events the flowers are transported in a temperature controlled cargo van. The van is also equipped as a work station for remote events.

I can't say enough good things about working with Kathryn! She fell in love with our space theme from the start and went all-out to make it everything we wanted it to be. We gave her general ideas of what we wanted and let her get creative, and we were NOT disappointed! The bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and vases of greens we ordered were more beautiful than I could have ever anticipated. This past weekend was my wedding and I was going to have family do my flowers, but a friend of mine suggested Olps. So she made my flowers last minute and they turned out even better than I imagined! They were so beautiful and so reasonably priced. I would recommend this flower shop to anyone. The flowers were so beautiful and I received so many compliments. I live towards Harrisburg but I will forever make the drive whenever I am in need of flowers!

Needed bouquets and boutonnieres for my best friends wedding. Our order was last minute so we weren't sure she would be able to accommodate it. Quite the opposite! I have always been a fan of the adorably small, family run, flower shop. (Many years ago my husband and I got our prom flowers here). It had changed ownership about 2 years ago and we ended up meeting the new owner, Kathryn. She is a spunky, fun, and honest woman with a beautifully creative side. I sat with my mom, mother-in-law, and maid of honor pretty early in our process and talked about my husband an I’s vision for our day. We came up with a plan and how to execute and I thought that’d be about it. My mom ended up asking Kathryn to do mock bouquets for my bridal shower for my bridesmaids and I and they were so fun! I ended up talking with Kathryn about a few changes to the bouquets I wanted to see for our wedding day and boy did she deliver! From my bouquet, my bridesmaids bouquets, and groomsmen’s boutineres to the simplistic centerpieces and our grandmother’s mini pins, Kathryn turned our already beautiful venue into something spectacular! I didn’t have a “it must be this way” attitude and let Kathryn run with her creative side and we couldn’t have been happier with how everything looked! Kathryn is amazing at what she does and she is obviously so passionate about it too. When describing the colors I wanted for my boutonniere and corsage, you can tell she got excited about creating something new. It turned out absolutely beautiful!
